The control of power - trim TM is based on
1. The controller works to ensure that the blade pitch is adjusted to the optimal position for the current conditions.
2. Measurements of wind speed and temperature are used to determine the power level of the wind turbine.
3. The actual power achieved is compared to that expected.
4. The blade pitch is adjusted to give the expected power level thereby correcting for both air density variation and any blade contamination.
5. The 950 KW rated power is attained regardless of air density and contamination.
6. Tha blade pitch position is typically reviewed every 30 minutes.
7. High power correction: Immediate blade pitching action is taken in order to avoid high power levels.
8. In case of any manlfunction in the pitch system the tubine continues operating as a passive stall regulated turbine and the blade pitch is held in its current position.
9. Any loss of power or control causes a fail-safe shutdown of the turbine using the tip brakes. The power-trim system has no active role during safety system shutdown.
